Strategic Vision
In my position, I played a pivotal role in shaping the
strategic direction of product development. I assisted in
navigating the growing and evolving demands of the business by
steering the design process towards creating products that
prioritize simplicity, intuitiveness, and consistency across a
wide array of devices and platforms. My efforts in this area
were closely aligned with the direction set by the VP of
Product, and my previous experiences allowed me to benefit
from the mentorship of the Chief Product and Strategy Officer.
This strategic oversight ensured that our design solutions
were not only innovative but also met the overarching business
objectives effectively.

Requirement Management
A critical aspect of my role involved understanding and
validating requirements across various projects. I actively
collaborated with an array of Product Managers, stakeholders,
and clients to gather insights and feedback for both desktop
and mobile applications. Through these interactions, I ensured
that the requirements were thoroughly understood and
accurately translated into actionable design specifications,
thus laying the groundwork for successful product development.

Design Process Advocacy
I took the initiative to define and advocate for robust design
processes and standardized design systems/style guides. By
establishing these frameworks, I aimed to streamline
collaboration with engineering teams, ensuring that design and
development efforts were cohesive and effective. This advocacy
played a vital role in promoting best practices and
maintaining a high standard of quality across the design
deliverables.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
I worked closely with offshore-based cross-functional teams to
tackle complex, real-time challenges that spanned various
products and integrations. This collaboration often required
facilitating communication across different time zones and
cultures to ensure that all team members were aligned on
project objectives and deliverables. By fostering an
environment of open communication and teamwork, we
successfully navigated challenges and delivered high-quality
design solutions.

Engineering Alignment
Collaboration with offshore Front-End engineers was another
key element of my role. I coordinated UI development
activities both before and during Agile sprints, ensuring that
design specifications were clearly communicated and
understood. This included setting clear expectations for
hand-offs and facilitating discussions to address any
potential misalignments, thus ensuring a smooth transition
from design to implementation.

Desgin Lifecycle
My responsibilities encompassed engaging in the complete
design lifecycle, which included activities such as sketching,
wireframing, prototyping, and visual design. I also
participated in validation activities to ensure that the
design solutions were not just aesthetically pleasing but were
also user-focused and functionally effective. This holistic
approach allowed me to create designs that resonated well with
the end users.

Agile Engagement
I was actively involved in all aspects of the Agile process,
participating in Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint reviews,
Sprint planning, backlog refinements, and prioritization
meetings. My engagement in these ceremonies was essential for
maintaining alignment with project goals and ensuring that any
risks or blockers were identified and addressed promptly.

Quality Assurance
At the close of each sprint and internal release, I conducted
thorough functional and UI testing to guarantee the quality
and usability of our products. This involved meticulously
documenting any bugs or issues encountered using JIRA, which
facilitated seamless issue tracking and resolution. By
ensuring that each release met our quality standards, I helped
maintain user satisfaction and product reliability.
Overall, my experience as a Senior Product Designer allowed me to
contribute significantly to both the strategic and operational
aspects of product design, ultimately driving successful outcomes
for the organization. Also, in this role, I have participated in
several features, including AIML, Unified Dashboards, Data
Visualizations, Forms, Workflow, Project Management, Document
Automation and Management Systems, and Mobile Applications. I
played a key role in building these initiatives from the ground up
and ensuring their seamless integration with various Thomson
Reuters products in an agile environment. The main deliverables of
my work include wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, and
reports.
